ABOUT ETHAN

Ethan Stanislawski, currently residing in Los Angeles, is a writer, stand-up comedian, sketch comedian, character performer, and storyteller who previously lived in New York City, Chicago, and Bloomington, Indiana. Every month for four years, he wowed audiences with his sketch comedy team Nightchurch at the Pack Theater in Los Angeles, and showcased his talent in various stand-up festivals around the country. Ethan worked as a writer for the 2018 CBS Diversity Showcase, which was directed by Stephen Guarino.

Ethan completed his studies at the University of Chicago and went on to become a professional music and theater critic from 2008-2013. He further honed his skills in music journalism through a Master’s program at the Indiana University School of Journalism. His work has appeared in the Village Voice, NPR, Prefix Magazine, Perfect Sound Forever, Hypebot, New City, The Chicago Maroon, and other publications. Additionally, he’s been involved in producing comedy and music shows in both Brooklyn, Los Angeles, and Orange County.

Ethan is the son of Michael Stanislawski, a Professor of Jewish History at Columbia University, and the grandson of the late Sumner Z. Kaplan, a General in the Army reserve and former State Representative for Brookline, Massachusetts.
